DAY 1 – MADRID / KITILÄ / ÄKÄSLOMPOLO
Arrival at the airport 2 hours before departure and board a special direct flight to Kittilä. Lunch on board with drinks included. Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Äkäslompolo, 45 minutes from the airport. Pallas-Ylläs National Park is situated north of the Arctic Circle, which guarantees exceptional snow conditions in December. It has a total of 330km of cross-country ski trails, as well as 38km of floodlit trails. Arrival at the hotel - welcome to Lapland and the world of endless snow! On arrival at the hotel, stop by the safari office to collect the thermal suits you will be wearing during your stay in Ylläs. Accommodation.
DAY 2 – HUSKY SLEDDING SAFARI AND VISIT TO THE ELF VILLAGE AND MEETING SANTA CLAUS
Breakfast. Departure to a farm where we will be welcomed by the barking of huskies. Before starting the excursion, you will be given instructions on how to control the sled where people will travel in pairs. During the 5km ride, you can enjoy the wilderness and take photos on the farm. Hot drinks and cookies will be served at the nearest kota. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the village of the elves. Situated on the banks of the Ounasjoki River, this is a fascinating family destination based on the myths and stories of the elves. On arrival you will be greeted by an elf who will give you a secret map of the area and guide you through the magical forest. Continue to the gingerbread house, where you can bake delicious cookies. At the elf school you will learn about some of their secret skills. Visit the “wise elf's house”, where you'll find a crystal eye in the ceiling. Have you ever heard of the great magic stone “Seita”? This is the underground kingdom where elves, goblins and other forest people live in peace and harmony. Throughout the journey, the elves will help you find these magical places and tell you stories about their life in the village. Finally, it's time to meet Santa Claus! Each family will have the chance to meet Santa, hand in their letters and take photos. Santa will give a present to each child under the age of 10. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.
DAY 3 – SNOWMOBILE SAFARI AND ICE FISHING
Breakfast. Collect your helmet and gloves for the snowmobile safari. The guides will give instructions and safety rules. The adults will go on the snowmobile safari, while the children will do the activity on the sled driven by the guide. Along the way, the guide will choose a good spot for ice fishing. Afterwards, departure for lunch in front of the fire and drinks to warm you up. Return to the hotel. Free afternoon to enjoy the hotel's facilities. Accommodation.
DAY 4 – SNOWSHOE AND REINDEER SLED SAFARI
Breakfast. Collect the snowshoes for this activity that both adults and children love. Accompanied by your guide, enter the forest and walk along an easy trail that will take you to a frozen lake. This is a perfect opportunity to get to know Lapland's nature and experience the fun of snowshoeing in an easy way - feel free to make your own way through the deep snow! Stop for a cup of hot drinks and cookies. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, departure for a reindeer farm for a sleigh ride through the forest. After the ride, a hot drink will be served in a Lappish tent, where reindeer husbandry will be explained. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.
DAY 5 - ÄKÄSLOMPOLO / KITTILÄ / MADRID
Breakfast. At a time to be arranged locally, transfer to Kittilä airport. Boarding formalities and departure on a flight back to Madrid. Arrival.
