ALSACE AND THE BLACK FOREST

DAY 1 – FRANKFURT
Transfer to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure to start discovering the city. Accommodation.
DAY 2 – FRANKFURT / BADEN-BADEN / STRASBOURG
Breakfast. Departure to Baden Baden, for a stroll through this refined and elegant city that attracted the high bourgeoisie in the nineteenth century, encouraged by its fame as a spa resort and still retains its splendor, with its gardens, spas, casino, palaces, etc.. Lunch en route. Continuation to the capital of Alsace, Strasbourg. Start the tour by bus, from which you will see the Rhine Palace and the monument to the victims in the Republic Square, the new European Parliament, the Palace of the Court of Human Rights and the Council of Europe among other places. Later, on foot, walk through the cathedral district to see the impressive Gothic building of reddish stone; then the district of the Petit France, where you will appreciate the typical houses of the tanners. Accommodation.
DAY 3 – STRASBOURG / RIQUEWIHR / COLMAR / BLACK FOREST
Breakfast. In the morning, departure to Riquewihr, a charming walled town on the so-called Alsatian wine route. Walk around the tower El Doder, the Dissler house, the Zimmer house, etc. and have a chance to taste some of its famous wines (Riesling, Sylvaner, etc.). Continuation to Colmar, known as the wine capital of Alsace. After lunch, stroll through its historic center, with its half-timbered houses and the district known as Little Venice. Continuation to the Black Forest. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 4 – BLACK FOREST / TITISEE / FREIBURG / BLACK FOREST
Breakfast. Departure in the morning to Lake Titisee, located in the south of the Black Forest, which offers beautiful scenery surrounded by spectacular vegetation and beautiful villages. Lunch en route. Departure to Freiburg, beautiful university city, for a walking tour of the old town: the Münsterplatz with its beautiful buildings such as the Historisches Kaufhaus, the whale house, the impressive Gothic cathedral, the two remaining city gates Schwabentor and Martinstor, the town hall square. Accommodation.
DAY 5 – BLACK FOREST / LAKE CONSTANZA / MEERSBURG / BLACK FOREST
Breakfast. In the morning departure to Lake Constance. Arrival to the medieval city of Constance. Visit the old town, where you will see the Cathedral of Our Lady, the towers of Pulverturm and Rheintorturm, the Markstätte square and the Münsterplatz etc.. Cross Lake Constance, by boat, to reach Meersburg, a small town of half-timbered facades with a privileged location on the shore. Lunch. Departure for the visit of the Pilgrimage Church of Birnau, a good example of German baroque. Arrival at the hotel. Accommodation.
DAY 6 – BLACK FOREST / TRIBERG / GENGENBACH / MANNHEIM AREA
Breakfast. Departure in the morning to the center of the Black Forest driving through the valley of Gutach to Triberg, known for the manufacture of cuckoo clocks. In the surroundings, see the largest cuckoo clocks in the world, the Eble Uhren-Park and Schonach. Lunch. Continue to Gengenbach, located on the edge of the Black Forest and one of the 10 most beautiful villages in the area. Stroll through this impeccably kept village with its walls and typical half-timbered houses. Here were filmed the exteriors of Tim Burton's movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Continuation to the Mannheim area. Accommodation.
DAY 7 – MANNHEIM AREA / HEIDELBERG / FRANKFURT
Breakfast. Departure to Heidelberg, lively university city located in the valley of the Neckar River, to visit its impressive castle of medieval origin, the picturesque narrow streets, the church of the Holy Spirit, the town hall, the university, etc. Continuation of the trip to the economic capital of Germany, Frankfurt, and also headquarters of the ECB (European Central Bank) for a panoramic visit. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 8 – FRANKFURT
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.
