FROM NEPAL TO TIBET

DAY 1 – KATHMANDU
Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. The capital of Nepal is a vibrant melting pot of culture and nature, where ancient temples intertwine with urban bustle and the majestic Himalayan mountains loom on the horizon, offering a unique experience for lovers of adventure and spirituality. Accommodation.
DAY 2 – KATHMANDU / LHASA
Breakfast. Departure by flight to Lhasa. En route, admire the majestic Yarlung Tsangpo River (also known as the Bhamaputra River, the longest and largest river in Tibet) and the Lhasa River. Upon arrival, time at leisure to acclimatize to the altitude. We recommend visiting the Potala Square, where you will enjoy a vibrant colorful fountain and capture stunning photographs of the Potala and its surroundings. Accommodation.
DAY 3 – LHASA
Breakfast. The day begins with a visit to the Potala Palace, the Dalai Lama's iconic winter palace, used since the 7th century and home to some of Tibet's most valuable collections. In the afternoon, visit the Jokhang Temple, founded in the 7th century, which houses the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Continuation of the tour through Barkhor Street, where pilgrims and locals perform the kora around the sacred precincts and you can also visit the old market. Accommodation.
DAY 4 – LHASA
Breakfast. In the morning, visit Drepung Monastery, one of the three great Gelug monasteries of Tibet, founded in 1416 by Jamyang Choge, a disciple of Tsongkhapa. Tour the main kitchen of the monastery and participate in a Buddhist sculpture carving workshop nearby. In the afternoon, continuation to Sera Monastery, renowned for the monks' debates held there. In addition, visit the Tibetan religious scripture printing press where you will find three sand mandalas, along with colorful cave paintings of Buddha. Accommodation.
DAY 5 – LHASA / GYANTSE / SHIGATSE
Breakfast. In the morning, departure from Lhasa to Shigatse. On the way, passing through the Gampala Pass (4790m), you will have views of the majestic Yamdrok-tso Lake, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and with panoramic views of the Sacred Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m), the highest mountain in the area. Later, contemplate the Korola Glacier on the side of the road and Manak Dam Lake, with its prayer flags on the Simila Mountain Pass. Arrival to Gyantse, historically the third most important city in Tibet, to visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and the Kumbum, appreciating at the same time the distant view of the Gyantse Fortress. DAY 6 – SHIGATSE / BASE CAMP / RONGBUK
Breakfast. In the morning, visit the Tashilunpo Monastery, home of the Panchan Lama. After the visit, departure to Lhatse, a small village, for a brief rest. Continuation of the journey through the Tsola Pass (4600m) and Gyatsola Pass (5248m). Arrival at Mount Everest National Nature Reserve. Drive by zigzag road to Everest Base Camp (5200m), where you can appreciate the imposing summit and, if conditions allow, enjoy a golden sunset overlooking Mount Everest. Accommodation.
DAY 7 – RONGBUK / GYIRONG
Breakfast. In the morning, again, you will be able to appreciate with the sunrise, weather permitting, the majestic Mount Everest. Then, visit the Rongbuk Monastery, the highest and unique monastery where nuns and monks live together. Tour Everest Base Camp, capturing breathtaking views of the mountain. In the afternoon, transfer to the Gyirong border; on the way, take in spectacular views of Mount Shishapangma and Lake Pekutso, passing Ghungtang Lhamo (5236m), until arrival in Gyirong. DAY 8 – GYIRONG / KATHMANDU
Breakfast. Transfer to the border with Nepal to return to Kathmandu. Arrival and accommodation.
DAY 9 – KATHMANDU
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.
