Day 1 Ljubljana / Julian Alps
Arrival and transfer to the hotel in the Julian Alps. Accommodation.
Day 2 Julian Alps / Bohinj / Bled / Julian Alps
Breakfast. In the morning, departure for Triglav National Park, named after Slovenia's highest peak, Mount Triglav, at 2.864m. The park covers a large part of the Julian Alps and is the largest protected area in the country. Enter the heart of the park to Lake Bohinj, formed during the last ice age. Visit the cheese museum, where you will learn about the history and production of Bohinj's typical cheese, “mohant.” Continuation to Bled, a beautiful village worthy of a postcard. After lunch, visit the medieval castle, located on a 130-meter cliff overlooking the lake. Time at leisure and return to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 3 Julian Alps / Soča Valley / Slovenian Coast
Breakfast. Departure for the beautiful Soča Valley. During the journey, enjoy impressive natural landscapes with mountains and emerald-colored rivers. Short stop in Bovec and continuation to the Goriška Brda region to the village of Šmartno, a charming medieval village situated on top of a hill, surrounded by defensive walls with watchtowers. After the visit, departure to a nearby winery for wine tasting. In the afternoon, departure for the Slovenian coast. Arrival and time at leisure to explore the coastal area. Accommodation.
Day 4 Slovenian Coast / Piran / Koper / Slovenian Coast
Breakfast. Departure for a guided tour of the beautiful town of Piran, an ancient port town with remains of a medieval wall that is protected as a historical and cultural monument. The narrow streets with houses almost stuck together descend from the church hill to the main square and highlight the Mediterranean character of the city with its Venetian architecture. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continuation to visit Koper, a town with a Roman essence, but with traces of each and every culture that has passed through the area. Return to the hotel and time at leisure. Accommodation.
Day 5 Slovenian Coast / Predjama Castle / Postojna Cave / Ljubljana
Breakfast. Departure for Carso. Visit to Predjama Castle, unique in its kind. The largest castle inside a cave, listed in the Guinness Book of Records, it bears witness to a time when comfort was replaced by security and the sound of weapons often rang out louder than the songs of troubadours. It is so exceptional that it is on the list of the ten most fascinating castles in the world. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then visit Postojna Cave, the largest cave in Slovenia, with wonderful stalactite and stalagmite formations, and an electric train for part of the tour. In the afternoon, continuation to the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. Arrival and time at leisure. Accommodation.
Day 6 Ljubljana
Breakfast. Discover the capital of Slovenia. In the morning, guided panoramic tour of the historic center, with its distinctive Baroque style. Pass by the cathedral, the Town Hall, Robba's Fountain, the Three Bridges, and the University. At the end of the tour, take the funicular to the castle, where you can enjoy the best views of the city. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the city on your own, a mix of tradition and modernity. Day 7 Ljubljana / Maribor / Ptuj / Ljubljana
Breakfast. Departure for Maribor, in the Stajerska region, very close to Austria. Upon arrival, panoramic tour of the historic center. One of its jewels is Grajski Square, which is home to several of the city's most important buildings, or Glavni Square, where the Town Hall is located and presided over by the Votive Column, a symbol that commemorates the plague that ravaged Maribor. At the end of the visit, wine tasting. In the afternoon, visit Ptuj, the oldest city in Slovenia, and a rich area fed by the Drava River, which has always provided great wealth to its inhabitants, also making it a strategic location during part of its history. The city's Great Castle, watching over from above, is a striking sight. Time at leisure and return to Ljubljana. Accommodation.
Day 8 Ljubljana
Breakfast. Time at leisure and, at a time to be arranged locally, transfer to the airport.
