Following the route to Akureyri, arrival to the region of Skagafjörður, famous for its Icelandic horses, for a visit of the Glaumbær Museum, an ancient Icelandic settlement with turf houses, which offers a fascinating insight into traditional life. Arrival in Akureyri, considered the capital of the north and known for its urban charm, botanical garden and beautiful bay. Accommodation. (If time permits and weather conditions are favorable, Northern Lights hunt on foot with a guide).

Day 3 Akureyri / Godafoss / Lake Mývatn / Akureyri

Breakfast. Departure heading east, reaching Godafoss, one of the most majestic waterfalls in the country. Famous for its crescent shape and Viking history. See how, on the way to Mývatn, the volcanic landscape transforms, with unique lava formations. Upon arrival, find a lake of calm waters, surrounded by craters, lava fields and hot springs. The area is rich in birds, has geothermal phenomena with bubbling mud pools and steam fumaroles. Relaxing bath in the natural baths of Mývatn. Return to Akureyri. Accommodation.

Day 4 Akureyri / Borgafjordur

Breakfast. Return south, although first there will be a stop in the beautiful Borgarfjördur, a region that is full of natural wonders, and visit of Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe, famous for its powerful jets of hot water. Then, continuation to the spectacular waterfalls of Hraunfossar, where water springs from a lava field creating a unique and amazing landscape. Very close, visit the Barnafoss waterfall. Arrival in Borgafjordur. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 5 Borgafjordur / Golden Circle / Reykjavík

Breakfast. Departure to Thingvellir National Park, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the geological wonders of the world. In Thingvellir you can see the effects of the movements of tectonic plates that have opened several cracks and fissures in the earth's crust. It was right here that the Icelandic Parliament was founded in the 10th century. Then departure to the famous geothermal area of Geysir, where the hot springs of Strókkur expel a column of water into the sky every 8 minutes. After this visit and a short journey, arrival to the Gullfoss waterfall, which is undoubtedly the most famous in the country. Return to Reykjavík with a stop at the Northern Light Center Aurora Reykjavík, whose center offers immersive exhibitions, real-time forecasts and impressive shots of the Northern Lights.
