Day 1 Portugal / Reykjavík
Arrival at the airport at least 2 hours in advance. Boarding formalities and departure by flight to Reykjavík. Arrival and regular transfer by "Flybus" service to the hotel or nearby stop. Spend the afternoon visiting the aurora information center "Aurora Reykjavík" located near the port area (opening hours from 09:00 to 21:00), where you can watch an interesting presentation about the phenomenon of the famous Northern Lights or aurora borealis (you can enjoy the entrance on any day of your stay in the city). Accommodation.
Day 2 Reykjavík / Golden Circle / Reykjavík
Breakfast. Pick-up at the hotel or nearby stop to take the tour that will take you to discover one of the areas that best represents the most well-known natural phenomena of the island, the Golden Circle. Start with a visit to Thingvellir National Park, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the place where the oldest parliament in the world was founded. It is also in this place where the enormous tectonic plates of America and Eurasia separate. The next stop will be Geysir, where the only active geyser in the entire country is located and which is one of the most emblematic natural phenomena of the island. Here you can feel how the earth trembles and admire the spectacular jets of water with hot steam that shoot into the sky every 7 minutes from the famous Strókkur geyser. Continue to the Gullfoss waterfall, whose waterfall formed by the waters of a glacial river descends 32 meters in two levels through a narrow gorge and with a thunderous noise. Return to Reykjavík. Free time until pick-up time at the hotel or nearby stop to take the Northern Lights excursion (subject to weather conditions). For many, being able to contemplate the Northern Lights is the main reason to visit Iceland during winter. The auroras are incredibly mysterious and simultaneously magical, and once you see them, you will never forget that experience. Every day the cloud forecast and the Northern Lights prognosis are carefully reviewed. Return to Reykjavík. Accommodation.
Day 3 Reykjavík
Breakfast. Free day. Accommodation.
Optionally you can take an excursion along the south coast of the island (duration of approximately 10 hours): Pick-up at the hotel or at the nearest stop and departure to the southern part of the country. During the journey enjoy the typical farms of Iceland, waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes and puffin colonies. Stop at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can take a walk on the trail on the inside. Then, stop at the Skógafoss waterfall, one of the most photographed in the country and which has a 60-meter drop. The Sólheimajökull glacier is the dream of any photographer and that is precisely where the next stop will take you on the way to Reynisfjara, the black sand beach, another incredibly beautiful place. The powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean breaking against the black sands, the columns and the huge basalt cave are an unparalleled spectacle (visit subject to weather conditions). The last stop is in the charming village of Vík. Return to Reykjavík.
Day 4 Reykjavík
Breakfast. Free day to enjoy the Icelandic capital on your own. We recommend, optionally, taking a visit to the Blue Lagoon, one of the most visited attractions in the country, where its steamy waters with an average of 40ºC, rich in minerals such as silica and sulfur, help with skin care and regeneration.
