Day 1 – Reykjavik
Arrival in Reykjavík and regular transfer in "Fly Bus" service (without assistance) to the hotel or nearby stop. Accommodation.
Day 2 – Reykjavik / Golden Circle / Seljalandsfoss / Skógafoss / Reynisfjara / Dyrhólaey / Vík
Breakfast. Departure to the Golden Circle to see the famous Strókkur geyser, which erupts every 8 minutes launching a column of water almost 20 meters high, and the mythical Gullfoss waterfall, which plunges into a 70-meter high gorge. Small tasting at a typical Icelandic farm, producer of dairy products with explanations about the production processes. Continue to the south coast, observing the waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, Iceland's most famous waterfalls. Discover the black beach of Reynisfjara and its enormous geological formations. Stop in front of Dyrhólaey, a huge pillar of dark lava that projects 120 meters into the sea. If there is time, short walk to observe life in the small town of Vík. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 3 – Vík / Skaftafell National Park / Jökulsárlón / East Fjords
Breakfast. Departure to Skaftafell National Park, which is part of Vatnajökull National Park. Photo stop at Skaftafell to see the glacier in the distance. Then continue to Jökulsárlón glacier, the largest glacier in Europe. Optionally, you can take an amphibious boat tour among the huge icebergs in the picturesque landscape of Jökulsárlón (duration: about 30 to 45 minutes - not included). Then continue along the charming east coast through small fishing villages. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4 – East Fjords / Dettifoss / Mývatn / Godafoss / Akureyri
Breakfast. Departure to the impressive Dettifoss waterfall, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Departure to Lake Mývatn and the Dimmuborgir formations, which ancient local legends considered as "the gate to hell" and home of elves and goblins. Visit pseudo-craters, sulfur vents with boiling sulfuric mud pools and a lava labyrinth where strange lava formations provide shelter for unexpectedly rich vegetation. In the afternoon, stop at the Mývatn natural baths complex, where you can enjoy a relaxing bath in the natural hot springs. Continue to the waterfall of the gods, Godafoss. Arrival in the Akureyri region. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 5 – Akureyri / Borgarnes
Breakfast. Departure to Hauganes, to board a boat to try to spot humpback and minke whales. Then visit the Glaumbær Museum, an old 18th century turf farm, which has a collection of artworks, some of which are outdoors. In the afternoon, journey to the land of Icelandic horses, along Skagafjördur. The last stop will be at the fishing village of Borgarnes. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 6 – Borgarnes / Snæfellsnes Peninsula / Kirkjufellfoss / Borgarnes
Breakfast. Departure for a visit to the Snæfellsnes peninsula. This region served as inspiration for writer Jules Verne for his novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth" where Otto Lidenbrock and his nephew enter through a crater in Snæfellsjökull into a fantastic world near the Earth's core. Attractions such as Kirkjufell mountain and its photogenic waterfall and the rock formations of Arnarstapi will be seen. Optional visit to the Vatnshellir lava cave (not included). Departure to the charming village of Hellissandur and then to the fishing ports of Ólafsvík and Grundarfjörður. Stop at the famous Kirkjufell, Iceland's most photographed mountain. Return to Borgarnes. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 7 – Borgarnes / Thingvellir National Park / Reykjavik
Breakfast. Continue to Reykholt, historic place where many Viking sagas were written, and observation of the Deildartunguhver hot springs. Then discover Hraunfossar (lava waterfall) and Barnafoss (children's waterfall). Continue to Thingvellir National Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site, birthplace of Icelandic democracy in 930 and where the first European parliament was established. It is also geologically interesting because you can clearly see the fault caused by the separation of the Eurasian and American tectonic plates. Arrival in Reykjavik in the afternoon, panoramic walking tour of the center with an accompanying guide, who will show you, among other places, the emblematic Hallgrimskirkja church and the magnificent opera building, the "Harpa" (if there is no time to do the tour on this day, it will be done during the morning of the following day). Accommodation.
Day 8 – Reykjavik
Breakfast. Free time until your regular transport in "Fly Bus" service (without assistance) to the airport.
Remarks:
- Optional excursions must be booked from origin and at least 15 days in advance.
- FlyBus transfer service operation: The regular service transfer is carried out through Flybus, which connects Keflavík International Airport with Reykjavik city and vice versa. The service has frequent departures, coordinated with the arrival of each international flight. To board the bus, it is essential to present the Flybus voucher with the QR code that we provide along with the travel documentation, either in digital or printed format, when entering the vehicle.
- Instructions for arrival: Follow the signs towards Flybus at the terminal exit. Show the voucher with QR code to the driver and communicate the name of your hotel. Upon arriving at BSÍ (city central bus station), board the connection minibus (included) to your hotel stop indicated by the provider.
- Instructions for return: The accompanying guide and voucher will indicate the pick-up time and stop. Remember that you must be at the stop 30 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.
