Day 1 Portugal / Reykjavik
Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours in advance. Check-in formalities and departure on flight to Reykjavik. Arrival and pick up rental car. Accommodation.
Day 2 Reykjavik / Borgarfjörður Area
(170 km) Drive north through the toll tunnel crossing the Hvalfjörður fjord. Visit Deildartunguhver, Europe's largest hot spring, and the Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls in Reykholt. Return to hotel and accommodation.
Day 3 Borgarfjörður Area / Godafoss / Lake Mývatn Area
(395 km) Departure to Akureyri, Iceland's second largest city. After the visit, continue to the Lake Mývatn area to visit the impressive Godafoss waterfall. If desired, you can take a whale watching safari from Hauganes or Húsavík. Accommodation.
Day 4 Lake Mývatn Area / Dettifoss / East Fjords

Day 5 East Fjords / Seyðisfjörður / Skaftafell National Park / Kirkjubæjarklaustur Area
(380 km) Departure to the charming village of Seyðisfjörður, surrounded by mountains and waterfalls. Continue through the East Fjords, passing more small fishing villages and impressive landscapes. Arrival at the south coast, where, if desired, you can take an amphibious boat tour on the famous Jökulsárlón lagoon. Across the road, you'll find the curious and beautiful Diamond Beach, where small icebergs rest on the black sand shore, their reflection resembling the brightest diamonds. Day 6 Kirkjubæjarklaustur Area / Vík / Reynisfjara / Skógafoss / Seljalandsfoss / Selfoss Area
(220 km) Continue along the south coast through lava fields until reaching the small village of Vík. You can visit the Dyrhólaey promontory, home to seabird colonies including the charming puffins, as well as the iconic black sand beach Reynisfjara. Day 7 Selfoss Area / Golden Circle / Reykjavík
(180 km) Morning dedicated to discovering the natural wonders of the area, including the golden Gullfoss waterfall, the famous Strokkur geyser, and Þingvellir National Park, where the tectonic rift between Europe and America is located and the site of Europe's first parliament. Continue to Reykjavík. Arrival, rest of the day free and accommodation.
Day 8 Reykjavik / Portugal
Make a stop at the Blue Lagoon before returning the rental car at the airport. Check-in formalities and departure on return flight. Arrival.
