ABOUT THE DESTINATION: Manchester with its interesting museums, redeveloping city centre and notable musical heritage, is an exciting place to visit. It has a rich history and culture, and of course is home of the planet's most popular football team, Manchester United. But Manchester is above all a fun city that loves to entertain its guests. The local Gothic Cathedral is a distinctive architectural landmark of the region. Manchester's Gothic cathedral has a beguiling interior, laced with intricate wood carvings and mediaeval furnishings. Nearby there is the Chetham's Library and School of Music, believed to be the oldest public library in the world as well as Manchester's oldest building. Rich in grandiose Victorian and Edwardian architecture, the enormous neo-Gothic Town Hall on Albert Square is a spectacle inside and out, with murals of Manchester's history decorating the building's grand ceremonial hall. For art lovers, Manchester Art Gallery has a superb collection of British and European art. Undeniably, the uncrowned capital of the north is a great place to shop, drink and eat. Reconstructed after an IRA bomb attack in 1996, the Millennium Quarter is home to Manchester's mainstream shopping temples, while the Corn Exchange is a haven of fashion and style boutiques. The nightlife scene is legendary with many traditional pubs rubbing shoulders with sophisticated lounge bars and loud clubs. So while it is a city with a past, Manchester has its eyes on the future.

ABOUT THE DESTINATION: The capital of Wales, considered the youngest capital of Europe, is a lively metropolis, modern and Victorian, in which contemporary buildings coexist in harmony with old nineteenth century buildings. Cardiff is an exquisite blend of the old and the new. Cardiff castle stands proudly on the edge of an immense park while a display of architectural fantasy adorns the streets of Georgian houses. The biggest tourist attraction in town is the eleventh century castle built on an ancient Roman castle. Today the castle is a real mix of styles and buildings, being perhaps the most prominent the Norman tower. Climb to the top of the tower for a priceless view of the city. Cardiff Bay, the city’s port, has been fully restored and has reunited the Welsh capital with the sea. Cardiff Bay has spectacular buildings, including the Millennium Stadium and Millennium Centre. The Millennium Stadium is the international sports village and the Millennium center is the cultural hub of the city with exciting plays and operas. The city also has world-class museums and galleries. The National Museum of Wales has collections of natural history and geology, plus an art gallery. St Fagan’s Museum is an open-air collection of re-erected historic buildings brought in from all over Wales. It offers a walk through Welsh history from Celtic times to today. Wales' capital city is a vibrant destination, replete with stylish bars, restaurants, hotels and historical attractions that will not disappoint visitors.

ABOUT THE DESTINATION: Cornwall is a county in South West England in the United Kingdom. The county is bordered to the north and west by the Celtic Sea, to the south by the English Channel, and to the east by the county of Devon, over the River Tamar which forms most of the border between them. Cornwall forms the westernmost part of the South West Peninsula of the island of Great Britain. The furthest southwestern point of Great Britain is Land's End; the southernmost point is Lizard Point. Cornwall has a population of 563,600 and covers an area of 3,563 km2 (1,376 sq mi). The county has been administered since 2009 by the unitary authority, Cornwall Council. The ceremonial county of Cornwall also includes the Isles of Scilly, which are administered separately. The administrative centre of Cornwall, and its only city, is Truro. Cornwall is the homeland of the Cornish people and the cultural and ethnic origin of the Cornish diaspora. It retains a distinct cultural identity that reflects its history, and is recognised as one of the Celtic nations. It was formerly a Brythonic kingdom and subsequently a royal duchy. The Cornish nationalist movement contests the present constitutional status of Cornwall and seeks greater autonomy within the United Kingdom in the form of a devolved legislative Cornish Assembly with powers similar to those in Wales and Scotland. In 2014, Cornish people were granted minority status under the European Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, giving them recognition as a distinct ethnic group.
