Day 2 London
In the morning, we recommend visiting the Warner Bros Harry Potter Studios. Once at the studio, you'll have the opportunity to see up close the most iconic filming sets from the saga such as the Great Hall, Dumbledore's office and Diagon Alley. You can see the costumes worn by the famous trio of wizards and board the Hogwarts Express. Return to London to continue discovering the most magical places from the famous Harry Potter saga. Day 3 London / Oxford / Lacock / Gloucestershire
(230 km) Departure to Oxford, a mandatory stop on the "Harry Potter Route", as it hosted a multitude of scenes in the films. At Christ Church College you'll find the "Great Hall" that served as inspiration to create Hogwarts' famous dining hall. In Oxford you can also see the Bodleian Library. Finally, the inner courtyard of New College will remind you of the scene where Harry Potter confronts Malfoy. Accommodation.
Day 4 Gloucestershire / York
(320 km) Discover Gloucester, with its imposing cathedral, which was the location for numerous scenes from the Harry Potter films. Near Gloucester you can visit the Forest of Dean, also featured in the film saga. Departure to York. Along the way, you can make a stop at Hardwick Hall, near Chesterfield. This 16th-century Elizabethan country house was used to portray Malfoy Manor in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". Arrival in York. Accommodation.
Day 5 York / Goathland / York
(160 km) Visit the fascinating historic city of York, of Roman and Viking origin, and with a significant role in the Anglican church. Discover its imposing cathedral, castle and walls. The city also left its mark on the Harry Potter film saga. The construction of Diagon Alley was inspired by The Shambles, a medieval street in the old quarter. Additionally, when Harry and Hagrid walk across the bridge at King's Cross, it's actually York railway station. In the afternoon, we recommend visiting Goathland, a small village whose railway station is Hogsmeade station in the Harry Potter films, from where students traveled to Hogwarts. Return to York. Day 6 York / Durham / Alnwick Castle / Edinburgh
(380 km) Departure to Durham, a university city. Discover its cathedral, declared a World Heritage Site, which was part of the interior and exterior filming of Hogwarts, such as the chapter house which is Professor McGonagall's classroom. You'll also see the cloister where Harry Potter gives a letter to his owl. Continue to Alnwick Castle, which witnessed Harry's first flights and the famous scene when, together with Ron, they fly over Hogwarts by car. Departure to Scotland, arrival in Edinburgh. Day 7 Edinburgh
Discover the Scottish capital, where J.K. Rowling began writing the books and where she found her inspiration to bring Harry Potter's adventures to life. You can stop by for a drink at "The Elephant House" café, whose views of the castle are magnificent. From there, head to Greyfriars Cemetery which is very close by. Many of the names on the tombstones will remind you of the fictional characters, as Rowling used them for her novels. Additionally, this place inspired the battle between Voldemort and Harry Potter in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". Accommodation.
