Croatia Fly & Drive

DAY 1 – PORTUGAL / ZAGREB

Arrival at the airport at least 2 hours in advance. Boarding formalities and departure on a flight to Zagreb. Arrival and collection of rental car. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the city.

DAY 2 – ZAGREB

Day dedicated to the capital of the country. Its historic center is divided into two parts: the upper city and the lower city. We recommend a short walk through the old town “Gornji Grad” and visit the famous Cathedral of the thirteenth century, the Church of St. Mark, with its famous colorful tile roof, and the King Tomisla Square.

DAY 3 – ZAGREB / RIJEKA / OPATIJA

Departure to Rijeka Croatian port city located in the Kvarner Bay on the northern Adriatic Sea. In the historic center you will see the Rijeka Rezolucija and Stendarac Square, Kobler Square through which you enter the Old Town, the Old Gates, the Cathedral of St. Vitus or the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the popular Leaning Tower. A must is Trsat and the citadel, with panoramic views of the islands of the Kvarner Bay.

DAY 4 – OPATIJA / PULA / ROVINJ / OPATIJA

Departure to visit the Istrian peninsula. Start with the city of Pula. Strolling through the streets of the old town, you can easily find the imprint that the Roman Empire left on it. The most important monument and a must-see, its Roman amphitheater (first century) of elliptical shape and contemporary with the Colosseum in Rome, one of the six largest amphitheaters that remain today. Afterwards head to Rovinj, undoubtedly the jewel of Istria.

DAY 5 – OPATIJA / PLITVICE

Departure to Plitvice. Arrival and rest of the day to visit the National Park known for the 16 lakes that are connected by 92 waterfalls and cascades.

DAY 6 – PLITVICE / ZADAR

Departure to Zadar, the largest city in Dalmatia with a wealth of monuments from its medieval and Renaissance past. Known for the preservation of its ancient and thick wall, this city also gathers the most beautiful Romanesque churches in the country. So be sure to visit the main attractions of this amazing Croatian town, such as the pre-Romanesque church of St. Donatus, the Roman forum and the famous “sea organ”, a fascinating experimental musical instrument capable of playing music thanks to the thrust of the waves.

DAY 7 – ZADAR / SIBENIK / TROGIR / SPLIT

Departure to Sibenik, home to one of the most beautiful monuments of the Renaissance period, the Cathedral of St. James. Due to its location along the Krka River, this city is rich for its beautiful scenery. A fact that you can confirm if you visit the large number of waterfalls located in the incredible Krka National Park or the National Park of the Kornati Archipelago, whose beauty served as a source of inspiration for renowned sculptors, architects and musicians in Croatia. Departure to the charming town of Trogir, located on an islet, whose historic center is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 8 – SPLIT / DUBROVNIK

Morning city tour of Split, which was built within the walls of the Roman Palace built by Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. Enjoy a pleasant walk through its historic center, where you will find its impressive Diocletian's Palace, the Cathedral of St. Duje and the Temple of Jupiter. Departure to Dubrovnik.

DAY 9 – DUBROVNIK

Day dedicated to discover the city, “The Pearl of the Adriatic”, one of the most beautiful medieval cities in the world, declared a World Heritage Site, and famous for its walls.

DAY 10 – DUBROVNIK / PORTUGAL

Return the rental car to Dubrovnik airport and board the return flight.
